Spring 2008 Stream Monitoring

Happy Spring Everyone, It is time once again to volunteer to assist the FRWC in conducting our spring stream monitoring project. Monitoring will be conducted on Saturday, 26 April and again on the following Wednesday, 30 April. We have lots of sites available so sign up soon. For those of you who wish to monitor sites in Lapeer, please contact Diane Peplinski at 810-688-3347 or mailto:dianeskimay@yahoo.com Due to a conflict with Wild Lapeer, Saturday, 19 April has been designated an alternate day for Lapeer folks. Lab hours at UM Flint, 261 Murchie Science Bldg, will be 10 AM until 4 PM on Saturday, 26 Apr and 12 Noon until 6 PM on Wednesday, 30 Apr. Please ensure you arrive at the lab with your samples at least one hour before the ending times noted so you will have sufficient time to sort your critters. We also plan to continue having pizza and soda available in the lab. As was the case last fall, the nearest location to park is in the Mill Street Parking Ramp, which is the first structure directly to the east of Murchie. Visitor parking is on the lower level. The ramp is accessed off Mill St. from Southbound Chavez Dr. Parking passes will be available, so please let me or the FRWC office know if you need one. Passes should be on the clipboards in the bucket when you pick up your equipment. Once again, I would like to express my appreciation for your commitment to the FRWC stream monitoring program.
